In early September four of us (Kirstie, Trish, Guy, and I, Manrico) did a six day sea kayaking trip near Vancouver. Unfortunately Liz was not able to come on this trip.
This was a very simple, casual trip. From our house in West Vancouver the group drove five minutes to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal and took a 20 minute ferry ride to Bowen Island. We rented two double sea kayaks there and paddled around Howe Sound, staying on the relatively undeveloped west side. The Sea-to-Sky Highway connecting Vancouver with Whistler and other communities runs along the east side Howe Sound. We stayed in four of the newly developed, rustic campsites that form part of the BC Marine Trails network.
We are very lucky to be living in a place where people can do trips like this within 30 kilometers of a city of two million people.
Now the photos. If you expand the photo viewer to full page the “Adventures” menu will stop working. This is because of technical issues with the website software. Pick any other menu item and go to that web page. The “Adventures” menu will then work properly.
