Most people would consider spending a week on a houseboat on Shuswap Lake, British Columbia, Canada to be a simple vacation. The two of us still thought of it as an adventure since we’ve never done anything like this!
One adventurous aspect, for everybody on this trip, was that it was a first ever family vacation for this group. Participating were Liz’s brother Cliff, his wife Barb, Liz’s sister Sandra, Sandra’s daughter Kendra, Kendra’s partner Todd, and the two of us. Unfortunately Sandra’s husband Martin had to cancel because of a medical issue.
Okay, this was a family vacation but in many ways it was similar to our typical adventures. Our days consisted of some travel, enjoying the scenery, enjoying each other’s company, spending the nights in interesting places that weren’t our home, and most importantly having fun! These aspects were the same for this houseboating trip as the are for our hiking, mountaineering, skiing, canoeing, and kayaking trips.
Many thanks to Cliff and Barb for suggesting and organizing a truly fun family vacation/adventure!
Now the photos. If you expand the photo viewer to full page the “Adventures” menu will stop working. This is because of technical issues with the website software. Pick any other menu item and go to that web page. The “Adventures” menu will then work properly.
