The two of us are long time members of the Alpine Club of Canada, Vancouver Section. One major benefit of being a club member is being able to go on club trips and meet people with similar interests. (We first met each other on a club rock climbing trip.) In 2015 and 2016 Lynn and Gunnar who are club members and volunteers organized backcountry ski weeks at Powder Creek Lodge. These trips are best described as being excellent trips in wonderful ski country. Big thanks to Lynn and Gunnar for organizing those trips!
Powder Creek Lodge provides very good accommodation for backcountry skiers in the Purcell Mountains in southeastern British Columbia. The lodge is accessed by helicopter, being a six minute flight from the town of Kaslo. People spend a week there with a group flying in when another group flies out.
